This is a driver controlled function that is out of our control. Compatibility: Check compatibility info and be sure to update your drivers if you have any issues running the plug-in. Stardust is crazy slow. Interface is not that intuitive and there's a distinct lack of tutorials that actually help you to bring that plug-in into your pipeline. (Yes, there are a couple out there, but they're difficult to follow along and give you just a narrow path rather than help you fully understand the plug-in) In other news, check AK's twitter, he just posted he's working on a new tutorial.

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say AK was taken by surprise by nVIDIA's RTX announcement/release and he's probably exploring now together with his crew if the new tech can help them bring ray-tracing into AE. Stephen - you're missing the point that the pixel count doubles in height, as well width. Yes, a 4K image is twice as many pixels wide as a 2K image, but also twice as many pixels high.

Rough example, rounding for the sake of maths: 2K: 2000pxW x 1000pxH = 2,000,000px total 4K: 4000pxW x 2000pxH = 8,000,000px total Hence 4K has 4 times as many pixels as 2K. Which is what Alex correctly stated. To your point, 8K is TWICE as many pixels wide as 4K, but it is indeed FOUR times the resolution (if you defined resolution as the total number of pixels in an image/display). I stumbled on the 'ORB' plugin last night.. Sadhak bamakhyapa serial cast iron skillet. And still have the bump to prove it. Your ORB trailer has +8K views on youtube, and I think I was 4K of them.

Just outstanding. A thousand thanks for such a phenomenal plugin and excellent tutorial. I had work to do tonight and took a couple of hours time out to play with it. My Earth looks PERFECT, I don't mind saying. Not even slightly cheesy. Marks 11/10 on this one.

A big VC fan here. The Star Trek closing credits ( planets E3D fly through ) is the most compelling VFX thing I have ever seen. Been captivated ever since.

Extend thanks and admiration to Andrew and your entire team. Appreciate your humorous twists and unexpected funnies too.

I'll be trying to duplicate your trailer until Monday at 5AM. A spectacular weekend to you. Guys!I'm seeing many reports regarding the errors of VC orb. Please do see the hardware recommendation which they have listed before you even comment. My PC has AMD Phenom 2 -970 processor and a GTX 1050 Ti GPU. Though my GPU is a new one with updated version it won't work. That's coz my processor doesn't support SSE 4.2.

That's a new instruction code with current generation CPU's. So my point is if you find any error, it may be coz of two main things.

May be your CPU doesn't support SSE4.2 or you need to update your graphic driver or get a new one. Trust me this plugin works well. I've created more than 10 planets with it without any trouble.

Its a new generation plugin, so you need a new generation PC. My request to VC is, please make sure it runs with the lower instruction sets also. We are eager for the next update. Great plugin thanks VC team! Seems like a nice alternative to Element 3D for this singular purpose. After playing around with it for a bit I would suggest one small refinement: The ability to set independent UV options for each texture map. Or exclude a specific map when one changes the UV from default scale.

I made an animated pre-comp to use as an illumination map, but I did not want it its mapping to change when I scaled down the UV for the other textures (those were created to seamlessly tile but the illumination pre-comp doesn’t). So, it is a great plug in you've made for us all, and I have follow the tutorial, trying to creat a new planet. All works fine. Except when I try to make a render. Picture or animation, nothing happen. After Effects just don't begin the render. I checked the GPU which are supported, it's okay, I update my GPU's driver, and I'll verified all other compatibility informations.
